i never began a post with the title beginning with the letter q so here it is :)
james was awake apparently ages before me & sarah so dad came to wake up sarah so james wouldn't be so bored.
but i was like 'meh' & just kind of tried to fall back asleep while not really.
then we had breakfast which was so big because usually, we don't eat that much for breakfast.
like we had prawns, oysters & auntie [james's mum] came to give us fried chicken.
so it was like massive. & during breakfast, sarah & james teamed up against me in chess but i still won despite mum giving me bad advice [that made me lose like 3 royals]. haha; love you, mum.
sarah, james & dad left for church earlier because sarah has choir & james wants to play at church with his friends.
as usual, mum & me left later because we take ages to get ready, plus we're slow so we don't really want to go church early for no good reason.
yeah & we went to church [it was bible sunday] & when i got there, nayomi & esther were like 'hi, mary' & i was like 'wtf, my name isn't mary,,'
but then it turned out that while i was at iscf houseparty & missed church, people were organising the skit/play for the church christmas celebrations & ofc nobody volunteered or wanted to be mary so naturally, i got dumped with it.
haha but i'm not complaining, i don't really care but seriously, that was really like "since when ? when did this happen ? why am i sudddenly Jesus's mother ?" like.
jdsn was interviewed & it was so sweet when he talked about his wife [junhee songseng; my teacher last year].
because they're going to korea next year & it was kind of like a half-goodbye interview/prayer.
after that, we went to bible study & daebii brought the time capsule [which was actually a container for storing food] & we're going to open in 4 years which is kind of a scary thought because, tbh, i don't want to be that old.
i wish i could just sort of stay in the present, where i am now but somehow, everything becomes the past. that sucks.
i just wrote a kind of simple corny note, saying not to give up no matter what & turn to God when things get tough. i also wrote about loving your family [bros & sisters in Christ included].
it got kind of late but we made it to the main room where everyone was & we practised 2 songs that we were going to do ["so you would come" & "Jesus Messiah"].
we went up to church to eat lunch, only i didn't eat because i don't really like the meals at church. i saw my grandparents & then my mum to ask if i could skip violin to practise the dance for hiphop dance for christmas celebrations.
then some of us went back to telopea public school [which is the main room the youth group uses] to practise the dance & rap.
maddie & me had to learn the dance off nayomi. we were so lost because neither of us were there last week. we're doing the dance to "You are good" & it's part of the skit so i have to change from the mary costume into white shirt & trackpants as soon as the song goes on. ughh, i'm too lazy for that =/
but we took a rest & ate ice blocks.
& i asked a kind of stupid question, . ok, i asked a really stupid question. i asked if ice blocks melt.
which, at the time, seemed like a reasonable thing to ask. because, honestly, how many people have seen blocks of ice melt that quickly ? sure, ice cream melts but that's because it's already kind of sloppy & messy. but ice blocks are fully, like, hard to bite on & they're frozen 8)
so, i asked it.
& everyone was like "omg, are you serious ?" as if i asked something as stupid as "do ice creams melt ?".
seriously, in my opinion, ice blocks & ice creams are vastly different, thank you very much.
one melts & the other doesn't. i'm positive.
yeah so we just kind of sat there, eating our non-meltable invincible ice blocks, & watched the rappers. which had all the guys & judy & joanne.
i'm not sure what the rap is because we didn't get to hear it but i think it's a parody for "run this town" by rihanna, kanye west & jayZ. they were trying to be all gangsta & everything & failed. but they were pretty funny to watch; their gangsta poses & hardcore hand movements were quite awesome.
but they ended up sitting in a circle & reading out the rap slowly so they could get the hang of it. because when they tried to do it altogether & people had to rap, everyone got confused.
while they were all being confused, me & maddie tried to run through the dance again & got even more confused than the rappers. @___@
anyway, that was church.
then we came home & dad was random again & said "let's go out for mocktails !" :)
at dinner, we watched this korean movie [can't remember the name; something like "crazy something"] about this guy who likes a girl in high school but she gets cancer & dies. & then it goes back to the future where he's engaged to someone like 10yrs younger who was the little girl delivering the love notes between the guy & the girl. which is a bit pedo-ish but i guess age difference is better when you're older ? still, 10 yrs is kind of a lot.
haha anyway, so after dinner, we went to this restaurant/bar in baulkham hills but it was too loud & mum had a migraine so we left.
then we went to a bar in a hotel in norwest [like near the sydney ice arena] but they said we had to drink/eat outside the bar because me & sarah are under 18 yrs. but the chairs outside the bar didn't have tables so we left again.
we just kind of went on a drive, looking at the christmas lights on people's houses.
then when we came home, sarah made us all mocktails by mixing pineapple & apple juice together. she even put a cherry & grape on the side of the cup. it was so nice. probably better than if we had gone out for it. i even took photos of them, haha.
so it was a good night anyway. i had to pack for the beach [deewhy/long reef] tomorrow.
